I want mad power!! what do I need to buy??
I have a $3500 budget.
I was thinking the following:
1.- vortech SC, Exedy clutch, tuning OR
2.- all motor with JUN cams, springs, Toda FW, S2 IM, Exedy clutch, S2 ECU, tuning.
I want opinions!! I leaning towards the SC, all motor is too expensive, but I am worried about reliability and the high compression in the GSR

instead of dumping money into your car, look into buying a new one.
yes, if you do forced induction you will be fast. but the life of the engine has just dropped alot. and then you will have to be a new one in 50-90k miles.
just my 2 cents
if you want to spend some money. get some zeal coilovers and new seats
at least they retain some value

"what did dom say" "he said he wants you out of here" "what did u tell him" "I said good work was hard to find" ....blah blah blah...... "I NEED NOS" "Ive seen the way you drive you have a hevy foot, you will blow yourself to peices" "I need the two big bottles"
All I am saying is if I were you I would build a bulletproof bottom end and get the bottle! cheapest way with less tunning in my mind to get big whp!

id still go turbo - just build it up enough to withstand the added stress to the engine and you shouldnt have HUGE reliability issues - iguess na is "Safest" but not fastest

Turbo... no other way around it.. you want mad power...
mad power = turbo
done...
your welcome...
p.s. dont waste your time with nitrous or anything else.. i use nitrous... and went to a turbo.. now i have a bottle here that either a) will never use again or b) will install and run a line to the charge pipe and shoot a 25shot...
turbo... there is no substitute

Dude guys, he obviously doesn't want to get another car. If he did he'd say so and not even ask for help.
My suggestion, TURBO. Simply no other way. Its expensive all at once but its more cost effective than n/a. Just make sure if you want to run alot of boost, you build your bottom up. Plan out everything that you wanna buy, and tune it
Oh btw, if you're gonna go turbo, you gonna let go of your cams?

I am preparing to get flamed...
If I were in your place I would go with a :gulp: JRSC. You will still be able to use all teh parts you have, and with the extra money you could go with a Hondata 2b and get a very good tune. You won't have the most power, but it'll be fun to drive and be pretty quick.
edit: and if you get the thirst for more power later on you can always add a little giggly gas into the mix.

like the other 48273489 responses mad power=turbo. But then do you road race or autox? trying to negotiate cones with a sudden boost spike would be exciting
I personally would say drag 3 turbo. The kit overall impresses me you can get some monster power just running like 6 or 7 pounds. Oh btw if you sell your cams I got second dibs

I drove my father-in-law turbo Miata boosting 13 psi. That thing is VERY and i mean VERY fast!!!! I want turbo!!!! but would consider Vortech SC also
TURBO, ITS ABSOLUTELY THE ONLY WAY TO GO{NOS IS OKAY, BUT TURBO IS BETTER AND YOU CAN'T REALLY RUN OUT OF BOOST LIKE YOU CAN WITH NITROUS, AND YOU DON'T HAVE TO FILL IT UP EVERY WEEK.., I HAVE A 94 LS DRAG GEN 3, I RUN 7 PSI EVERYDAY AND IT DOES GREAT....IF YOU WANT INSTANT *** KICKING CAPABILITY, BUY A TURBO KIT...THE DRAG3 LOOKS GREAT, PERFORMS EVEN BETTER AND I GOT MINE FOR 2900.......WITH THE GSR YOU COULD PROBABLY RUN ABOUT 5 PSI EVERYDAY AND TURN IT UP TO ABOUT SIX OR SEVEN WITH SOME TUNING ON THE STOCK MOTOR......I HAVEN'T SEEN VERY GOOD RESULTS WITH SUPERCHARGERS....AT ALL.....TURBO'S ACTUALLY GIVE YOU BETTER GAS MILEAGE WHEN YOUR NOT HITTING BOOST, AND IT DOESN'T ROBB YOUR CAR OF ANY POWER CAUSE IT RUNS OFF EXHAUST....SC'S ARE BELT DRIVEN........IF YOU WANT MAD POWER AND ONLY HAVE 3500 BUCKS, GET A TURBO KIT........PERIOD........
First a question 1fastGSR. Did you notice much difference whwn you put in the ITR cams. Also did you change the valve springs?
I personally would go supercharger. Though the turbo deals out a bit more power but it is high maintenance. The super charger is power at all ranges of rpm and alot less maintenance but not quite as much horsepower increase as turbo. Also NO2 is also a cheap way to get faster but once the bottle is empty no more power until you refill the bottle. They are all good ideals but you must figure out what is good for you and go with it?

the vortech has barely even been out - just wait till the aftercooler comes out for the teg - then we'll see (you might be right - but I would expect more than the 275whp on the civic Si - and if you could extend the redline to 9000 rpm - who knows
cam were the BEST bang for the buck. I bought them used for $275 for both and FREE self installation.
Stock valve train with many redline shifting everyday
