jdm itr pistons with gsr rods question
i have a 95 gsr and i was going to install some jdm itr slugs. however, i was told that i might have to shave the side of my rods about 1mm. i tried to verify this by contacting inline four and they said the pistons should just bolt on. then i contacted jhpusa and they said that i have to shave my rods. anyone who's done this or know anyone who's done this respond to me and let me know for sure. thanks
I am pretty sure there is some shaving action going on with CTR pistons but not sure about ITR. When you take them in to have them pressed let the machine shop know. They can do it(for a minimul charge I"m sure)
You don't need to do anywork, just clean the block since your puttin in new slugers. I have the same set up for my Ls/vtec.(GSR rods w/ ITR pistons) Next thing to get are cams.
thanks for the input guys. i think i'll go with the jdm itr pistons if no shaving is required. and yes cams and an im are the next thing on my list.
