cooling system troubles
Hi this is my first post so don't gut me if I say something stupid,
I have a 94 Civic cx 1.5 and I am having some problems with the cooling system, I replaced the thremostat in hopes it was just a simple problem like that but I am still having the same problems. The car overheats, I don't have any heat in the car, and the radiator is only pumping into the overflow. this makes me think I might have a water pump problem, but I don't have much experience with cooling systems. If someone knows anything that could help me I would greatly appreciate it

Ok here's what i gather
Car over heating
Heater isn't putting out any heat ,
and coolant is coming out of resavoir bottle.
on these sysmtoms alone this is what i can figure out.
If that's whats going on then ill ask you this.
Then ill ask you some questions that will sound dumb but bear with me since I'm not their.
Before you installed the thermostat did it performing this way same.
If yes sound like a head gasket .
How I come to this concluetion is that when the motor is on the intake stroke
it's sucking in coolant and the on the compression stroke its pushing air into the
cooling chambers causeing the coolant to be pushed into the resavoir.
quick way to check is look at your oil dip stick if the oil color is like a milk shake
then you have a blown head gasket.
If no then did you install the thermostat in the right way.
But to make a clear diagnoses i need to know the following
when dose the car over heat
while driveing
At idle (stop lights, trafic, cold start, after driveing start up?)
dose the cooling fans come on (have you checked the cooling fans)
coolant level in radiator
are there any leaks
