Something that would at least help in a rollover, so I guess real ones. I dont even care for the 'style' of them, but I'm a little paranoid about dying in my civic because I do a lot of highway driving in the winter.

it is more dangerous to have a roll cage in your car for street driving. unless of course you drive with a helmet all day long.

Unfortunately, full roll cages in street cars can be more harm than good, because of all the metal tubing that can come into contact with your head during a side impact. Also, they have "door bars" that you must climb over to get into the car, which can be a pain.

Roll cages (and roll bars for that matter) are really intended to be used as part of a safety system that also includes a 5- or 6-point racing harness, and preferrably also racing seats. Otherwise, they can be even more dangerous than nothing at all, unless used with harnesses, which are usually illegal on the street.

So for your needs, I would recommend a 4-point roll bar made by a company called Autopower in San Diego, CA.

Their mad-to-order unit bolts right into your specific kind of car with little-to-no interior modification required. All 4 points of attachment are behind the driver/passenger compartment (two at the b-pillars and two on the rear shock towers), which means the point of the unit is primarily to keep the roof up during a rollover. Prices are anywhere from $220-250 for a basic one to $340-$380 for a top of the line one (plus shipping), depending upon options - specifically, how many of those center bars you want and if you want them welded-in or removable.

Here is a pic of the one (with all the available options) that's in my daily driver. And here is a pic of a similar one installed in the same kind of car - you can see that it doesn't take any space away from the driver/passenger, it just means they can't recline their seats all the way as long as that center section is installed.

Would a 'street roll bar' be of any good to me? I still want to be able to keep my back seats and have some room back there.

I just bought a "race rollbar" from autopower for my 92 CX hatchback, thru http://www.get-fast.net his price was a bit lower than ioport racing. It's a 4 pt rollbar, with crossmember behind both seats and a permanent diagonal brace. I suggest this as a street usable bar that is also suitable for autox or trackdays and driving schools. If you get into wheel to wheel racing you will be able to beef up this 4pt bar into a 6 pt cage thru autopower with a front section that they sell as an 'add-on'. cool eh? yah.
