Default How to get JDM ITR Conversion out of insurance?

Just let me start off by saying that earlier this summer, a semi truck pulled out in front of me a I slammed into the cab of the truck and totaled my car...if thats not bad enough, I get a new car (the one in my sig) and last night, some jackass decided that he wanted to pull out in front of me and wreck this one...Just from the looks of the car, I know for a fact that I am going to need a hood, 2 fenders, front bumper, front bumper reinforcement bar, both headlights, both bumper lights, and a radiator. I have read on here plenty of times where things like this have happened to people and they end up scoring a JDM ITR Front Conversion from insurance...Call me dumb but how are you guys doing this? I would really like to know b/c I was gonna do the front conversion but this may be my chance to get it for "free". Here are some pics of the first car I wrecked (black integra) and then what the new car looked like before the wreck (red integra)...I will post wreck pictures up when I get them on a disk! Thanks for the help!

That would be a semi pulling out in front of me while I was doing 55mph and had to time to hardly slow down...oh yeah, still havent settled this accident b/c the insurance company of the trucking company says that I could have avoided it somehow although police sited the truck driver as being at fault!

The new car...

Like I said...I will post pics of the wreck as soon as possible...I would really like to know how to score a JDM ITR Front Conversion out of this! Thanks again!!!

so yeah insurance usually gives u a check for the amount of damages or what not well depending on what kind of insurance u got or if its on the other persons insurance.

The guy at fault and I both have State Farm Insurance...so you guys are saying buy a used jdm itr front clip and use the parts from it being that it would cost about the same as usdm oem sheetmetal and parts?

Heres how to do it:
1. Settle with insurance and get check cut for damages
2. Search for peices for this conversion

It should approximatly be the same price, being as though insurance assumes that you buy all new parts, when in reality you will probably buy a used conversion....

thats it theres no secret to it, once the insurance company gives you the check they dont give a damn what you spend it on...

just go to the most expensive places to get a few estimates that state farm accepts, then bring it to the claims office and then they should write you a check and u might have to put out a few bucks for the rest. since its state farm, they usually pay for OEM parts, but being that old, they'll probably pay for the price of used OEM parts

edit: oh yeah, you gotta find a place thats gonna be willing to do it, here inmiami my friend was looking around and most places didnt want to do it

I got backed into at a stop light last year and I was going to order an SiR front end for my CRX(my damage was not half as bad as yours), so their insurance company had a 3rd party come do an estimate on my car and then sent me a check which was enough for front clip from Password, unfortunatly those front ends were on like 4 month back order so I got a b16 and spent the rest of the money elsewhere.

A lot of my friends though have been able to take their cars to a body shop of their choice and they've generally taken them to a guy that we know pretty well and he gives them a favorable but reasonable quote. I've also heard that if you take it to honda they will give you high quotes because its always w/ OEM stuff.

So do that, order the pieces, take it somewhere, I went to a body shop that has a good reputation in Flagstaff, and they totally agreed to do the conversion, and they are not at all an aftermarket type body shop, they are actually pretty conservative. Hope all this helps, good luck on getting your front end.

So where are the best places to get a JDM ITR Front End Conversion with out getting my *** ripped? Internet wise? I live in upstate South Carolina and there isnt anywhere around here that would have one like other big cities that have shops that specialize in this kind of stuff. Does anyone know? Thanks again!

Oh yeah...went to get the disp. camera developed today at wal-mart and I guess the camera was bad or something b/c none of the pictures came out...All that showed up was 1 pic out of 12 and all you could see was my tag and a tail light...I will have to wait until it gets done raining so I can go take some more pictures with a dig. camera! Just my luck too...they were pics at the site of the accident so I could prove to insurance were the cars were and all incase they tried to say it was my fault...

Unless State Farm makes you go to "their" repair shops that will lowball your ***.

take it to a really good body shop and get an estimate for replacing the stock parts with all new parts from acura. That plus labor would most likely be more than a jdm front end. I'd be sure to tell the body shop that if they help you out (aka give you a quote for a jdm front end conversion) they'd be more than happy to adjust a few prices so the invoice looks like it's all new stock replacement parts.

I dont see y u wouldn't come out with good money for the front. Just haggle with the truck's insurance and try to get a used front clip from PasswordJDM.com,, they usually have them at good prices.

Now, are those Racing Hart CP-F Tuners on ur car? If they are, are they 15"? Do you have any close ups of the wheels on ur car?

my old accord was in an accident where it was rear ended and pushed into the car in front. i just dropped it off at the body shop and i came back with a full body kit, shaved side moldings, trunk, hood, and supra LED tail light. basically my body shop settled an amount with the insurance company and did the all the extra work for the settled price.
