Default 95 Accord Auto to Manual swap H22... engine not sitting level?

I did an auto to manual swap on my 95 Accord...used all Accord Mt mounts and brackets with prelude driver side mount. Bolted everything up and my engine does not sit level...the drivers side looks about and inch higher than passengers side. Also I used my Accord AC and the pulley is like 1/2 inch from the frame and crankpulley is close too.

Wondering if anyone else has had this problem????

if you went from auto to manual, then you have to modify the frame itself where the tranny mount sits. otherwise, you'll have a problem...

thats a common problem w/ auto to manual swap. my engine has a similar problem but not really noticable.

you have to cut and reweld the tranny mount bracket up higher on the frame.

but what im going to try is to weld/patch the existing holes that the bolt for tranny mount goes through on the tranny mount bracket and drill the holes higher up on the bracket to raise the mounting pointing... hope that made sense

am i reading it right when you say manual to auto?
if so you need to use the auto mounts and the frame rail bracket for an auto accord instead of the 5spd tranny mount and frame rail bracket.

that was a typo....i meant auto to manual. I've read all the How-To's on this swap and it seems that you only have to reweld the purch on the 90-93. They all say that the 94-97 have the same mounting point...has anyone actually compared the manual and auto frames next to each other to see if there is a noticable difference?

no it does not hit the hood...its not a major misalignment. You can tell that it doesnt sit level when looking at the front.

I just wanted to see if other people have had a similar problem when the did an auto to manual swap.

sitting crooked here too. But its not that bad. I believe drilling a hole on top of the stock hole is the answer. Havent figured it out yet.

also my mechanic drilled a hole to the left of the stock hole, and that didnt make it sit str8. so scratch that off the list.

I've been looking at the purch and I think that you can drill a hole up and to the left a lil bit and it should fix the alignment. I am just theorizing because I need to see an actual Manual Accord Chassis to see if it will work. If all else fails...im just gonna put some washers on the drivers side mount between the head fork and the mount to lower the drivers side.

everyone i have seen with it sitting crooked like that has had bad axle problems.
if it was my car i would fix the mount by eitehr welding/redrilling or putting on teh 5 speed bracket.

how low are the your cars? I've had alot of inner boot rips since when it was Auto...I usually replace the inner boot every 1 or 2 years since I've own the car only on the passenger side. It is probably cuz my car is pretty low...it has a real bad angle on the axle. Now that the tranny sits about 1/2 inch lower it might make it worse.

im not sure who you guys know with h22's, but they should never sit like that unless you have a halfass shop doing the install. i got mine done at redzone, for those bay area folks, and they made a custom tranny mount...

and my motor sits perfectly like so...

H and F series lean back. B and D series lean forward.

on 98+ accords they got smart and redesigned the bracket. It is a bolt on bracket so you can buy a manual or auto one depending on your swap. On the 90-97 accords the had a welded on bracket so the auto and manual have the hole placement different.

I looked at a MT chassis and the hole is exactly where I suspected it would be located. If you look at the AT purch there is a pinch weld that is up and to the left of the AT hole. All you have to do is drill a new hole right there and it will be the correct location for the MT mounting point.

I don't know if it's too late but I have two Accords, one 94 automatic and a 94 manual. I will compare the two tonight and get back to you.
