RedlineLineTrackEvents Honda/Acura Time Attack
Hi all,
RedlineTrackEvents is announcing the official time trail challenge for most Honda and Acura models from the 1988 to 2000 models years. As many of you may know, we have hosted an EP3/DC5 challenge. Redline has received several letters asking to involve the older Honda and acura cars.
On January 21, at the streets of willow springs, we'll hold our first honda/acura time attack.
The cars eligible for this first challenge will include:
88-91 Honda civic/CRX
92-95 civic Hatch
92-95 Civic Coupe
96-00 Civic
90-93 Integra
94-01 Integra
1995-2000 Prelude
We're working on a handicapping system that will level the playing field, but we will include all the makes and models listed above. Our handicapping system will add or subtract lap times depending on modification and class. Our first trail run on Jan 21 will be a work in progress and help us better create a handicap for all the different makes, models and modifications. This will be the first of several time trail series that will run throughout the year. A point system will also be created.
All our challenges are created to provide safe and fun competition at the track.
More info to follow as soon as we've finalized the handicapping system. This first challenge will be more of a trail run to formalize the system.
Thanks to all for your support, and I hope to see you all at the track.
-Chris.

I know this might get ugly, but I have to ask.
What kind of safety equipment are you requiring?
Once you start timing and handicapping and scoring and handing out trophies, you have yourself a high speed competition. If you're not requiring safety equipment that matches that, the can of worms you are opening is uglier and bigger than you ever want to deal with.
Just throwing that out there.

All safety requirements will be explained on the Redline Website as soon as we formalize all the rules and regulations. This isn't just something we're throwing together. We've been running time trails events for several years. Your safety concerns are admirable. We don't want to see any one getting hurt out there. Safety is of the highest standard at any RedlineTrackEvent.

you may just be throwing it out there but NASA does vitrually the same thing with the TT, and in many regions they are ran with other people on the track that aren't competing, and there is saftey requirments other then that of a normal street car.

Don't worry, I'm working on something for the NSX and S2000.
If we get enough NSX and S2000 drivers involved, then I'll
put up a challenge for them at our California Speedway event that
will be held the first weekend of March.
If you know any NSX drivers who want to do something like this, let me know
and I'll get it together!
