got a JDM motor D16A from hmotorsonline and wondered what year it is in japan - they said on the recipet 95 1.6 sohc vtec which it is and the mileage was 29,757 now about 31,000 but anyways anyone know the exact years of this motor?? guessing its the same but a few more horsepower as a usdm years and from what i have seen and Very rare also is what i was told.....

either a sohc vtec ZC, which is a 1.6, or jdm d15b vtec

 

Do you mean the one similar to a sohc D16A6 or a dohc D16A1?

yes - JDM sohc vtec d16a....not sure the exct jap year though - it plugged in obd1 but still not sure the jap specs or year - thanks

weird the only time i have seen teh sohc D16,s from japan they were marked as ZC if they were 92-95

 

look on the casting on the head of the year it was made

 

i know its weird - thats what i have been told - i called like 3 or 4 places that import them and they "say" its extremely rare motor - which is sweet if it indeed is - but it is clearly markes D16a and has the hmo circle next to that siting hmotorsonline is where it is from - i ordered the d15b jdm motor but got this instead - cool for me i guess - let me know anything else you may know or have to say - thanks again

i think the d16a's were in the old integras, 1987, looking ones. they were dohc tho. i may be wrong tho

tell you what though too is this motor is stronger than my usdm sohc vtec i had before and that one was totally rebuilt and this one feels a lot stronger

 

i have a d16a in my 96 and its obd2. but they also have obd1 d16a.
