All right I searched but didn't find anything. My car has been doing some weird things when it comes to idle. First of all, my car idles at 800 with the lights turned off, when I turn them on they jump up to 1100. When I come up to a stop light the idle will go down to 1500 immediatly and then 10 secs later it drops to 1100 (yes I timed it) with the lights on. Now when the lights are off it does the same thing but goes from 1200 back to 800. My question is, does this sound normal? If not what could it be? I just started noticing it but it may be due to the fact that this message board makes u one paronoid fokker and I just wasn't paying attention before. Any comments would be greatly appreciated! Normal.

Idle is higher with the lights on due to electrical load.

idle takes awhile to slow down after stopping because the air in the engine bay or
around the filter heats up after you stop.

It is normal, my R do the same thing too

 

mine does it too...except with the air on it idles at like 500!!!! so I think im gonna raise my idle a little and change my FAWKED UP primary o2 sensor that could be it lol
