Tire wear
How can I tell how worn my tires are (besides just looking at them). I've put about 11k mi on the stock Bridgestone Potenzza's and I want to plan on getting new tires but I don't want to get new ones if the old ones will suffice for now.
Here's a good tip on how to find out how good your tires are.

Keep an eye on the shoulders of those tires, and if you see any belts visible, replace them right away. Otherwise, follow the Tire Rack's advice; replace the tires no later than when the treadwear bars are flat across.
u can buy this at kragen its like 5 bones its called a tread depth gague and with that you can measure how much tread you have worn or you can use a penny and place it inbetween the tread and if it is at least as thick as the distance between lincons head and the edge of the penny you know your tires are still ok one it passes that mark time for new tires
