OK I AM GONNA SHARE W/ ALL OF U A PART NUMBER FOR THE INFAMOUS SPOOL VALVE FILTER (VTEC SOLENOID) U CAN CALL A HONDA OR ACURA DEALER FOR THIS PART..THE PART NUMBER IS 15825-p08-005 AND THE LIST PRICE IS $15.79...THIS PART IS THE SAME PART NUMBER FOR THE B16A1 AND THE B18C1..SO IF U GUYS HAVE A PROBLEM W/ AND OIL LEAK THAT LOOKS LIKE ITS COMMING FROM THE HEADGASKET CHECK THE VTEC SOLENOID AND THE DIZZY O RING..

 

don't forget to replace part# 36172-p08-005 also, gasket between upper half and lower half of the vtec solenoid. did these last weekend.

well if you're gonna go throught the trouble of changing one you might as well change the other too since you have the solenoid off. you should always change both of them at the same time.

 

 

Be careful with part numbers for those gaskets. When I did mine ('95 GSR) they said the gasket changed mid-year. So that part # doesn't even cover all of 1995, & I wouldn't promise it's the same for other years. A&H Motor knew which one to give me based on the VIN.

 

i hate when they do that. i went in last week for a fuel filter and the part# changed
but jim your right, you should always tell them what car its for since #'s always change.

 

ahh nice.. i need to replace that stupid gasket on my 94 gsr...been leakin around the solenoid but havent had a chance to replace it yet!

Mine leaked around that area, I replaced all these just because it's easy to do all together:

1 O-ring around distributor shaft.
2 Cam plug in side of head near vtec valve.
3 Gasket where spool valve sits against head.
4 Gasket where vtec solenoid sits against spool valve
5 O-ring where vtec oil pressure switch screws into spool valve.
