about to pick up 91 DA....engine help

Default about to pick up 91 DA....engine help

im about to pick up a 91 DA, 5spd, guy said engine is knocking and may be on its last legs but for $600, cant beat it....ive got a 97 B20 longblock im thinking of dropping in it....what will i need for that to work besides mounts? or should it just go right in.....thanks for any info....

It won't need mounts. Assuming you know how to wire in the OBD0 chassis to the OBD2 motor, you're good to go.

i was hoping i could avoid that.....damn.....thought those were obd1? i kinda know integras, but i know civics more......

You don't need to rewire anything, actually. Take the engine, switch the tranny / flywheel and new clutch onto the B20, pop the DA's intake manifold / dizzy / etc on, and away you go. At worst, I think the waterpipe would have to be switched, which should just bolt up. Basicly you just strip the donor engine of everything and put all the stuff on from the b18a.

^^^ just what he said. Why do people think if you have a OBD-2 motor you have to convert your car to obd-2. You can also put a OBD-0 LS motor into an OBD-2 car.

well thats cool, i got a skunk2 manifold and a type-r t-body on it, id like to switch all that along with it also.....if not, i can just find a 91 ls longblock for cheap somewhere. went to look at the car tonight, cars in awesome shape except the dude didnt have the key so i could start it up....
