Default Rod bolts and bearings

I was wondering if it would be safe for me and my mechanic (1 of the few people i trust w/ my car) to drop the oil pan etc
and install some arp rod bolts and some new acl bearings on my crv block for some extra insurance.
OR
is this something that should be left up to a machine shop.

give me any helpful information you have
thanks

Well if you want to do it the right way you would need to take out the rods from the block and get the big end of the rod resized and fitted for the arp bolts.

bearings you can do it like that but its a PITA to check clearances and to shuffle the bearings if you didn't get the proper clearances.

you gotta pull the head, take piston and rod assembly out, take parts to machine shop to press out old rod bolts and press n new ones and line them up correctly on the rod

i dont know how u gonna press out the stock rod bolts while the rods are in still in the block. like u, i 1st thought that u didnt need to pull the rods outta the motor, but u need to in order to have them pressed out and the new bolts pressed in. there is some machine work involved too. the machine shop will need to make the rod's sit square on the rod so they will need to do some honing.
