good info</TD></TR></TABLE>
what makes you wonder? if you read it they had to wire in an 04 ecu cause the 05 ecu is different. that's why the speedo didn't work. they didn't just plug in the 04 ecu with K-Pro, they had to wire it in. read up!

woah, panties in a bunch there? I wasn't flaming anybody. I asked a question and then said read up. That's far from flaming anyone. And it says right in the friggin article what the issue with the speedo was. It did work just read wrong. The VSS is on a different shaft that spins at a higher speed. Damn, chill out.

it's gonna be a tuff job for em. either they make the ppl buy a 02-04 ECU and sell em a harness. or tehy're going to have to try to crack the new ecu which will be another year. lotta time to invest.
They will try to convert the new ecu but It is built differently and the maps are stored differently. If it's not cost effective then they most likely will make an adapter harness and you can use the 02-04 ecu(kpro).
Geez, thats alot of changes actually. I thought it was going to be more like where they just changed the headlight ands bumpers like in the 98+ Integras....but they went all out it looks.
the main issue is that the K20Z1 ECU does not use EPROM to store the maps. they're burned directly on ROM. So there's not much chance of flashing that....unless they somehow put a new memory unit into the ECU. it won't be easy.
k20z1 is almost a typeR. it does not have the DC5R's pistons nor lsd. it's a K20a2 + typeR cams + new ecu + typeR final drive

The 05 IS flashed base just like the 02-04. Even Hondata says so themselves in the link.
"The 05 ECU uses a newer processor than the 02-04 ECU. It is not eprom based but flash based like the 04" So it is flashable, they just gotta come up with a program.
