Wow, $1300 shipped, not bad at all. This isn't the full race one is it?

By full race you mean what?

Personally, I think for that price you could almost go with the Apex'i PowerFC. Dan @ Godspeed has them i think and his price was close to this and I know Dan is always willing to make a deal

From history I would say the Apex'i PowerFC would be better just because it has been tested in the field from the use of others. This new AEM one, who knows how good it actually is.

It's supposed to be better than the PowerFC, one is suppose to be for full race too... not sure which one. Check out this: http://www.aempower.com/ems.htm. The site talks about two different types of ecu's. I guess the only difference is the harness for the different sensors. The plug-n-play one is vehicle specific. But I guess the two ECU's aren't any different feature-wise.

Actually the NEW AEM system is not really that new. It was developed by a company in Britain who have been doing this for many years, GEMS. Look here for details: http://www.gems.co.uk/. AEM simply took an existing processor and repackaged it to suit specific vehicle needs.

Currently it is really impossible to say which system is better for this market, powerFC or AEM. But the AEM does have a huge software advantage, which might just make the PowerFC obsolete in North America. Time will tell.

Of course I have said this a number of times in previous discusions about this..
