coming up is my pay day (sort of) and im thinking of buying a new bike. right now i have a 99 CBR900RR. Ive always loved the Gixxer 750's ergonomics and all and that was going to be my first bike until the Honda came along. Im going to have the cash to throw down on the bike for a 750 but it got me thinking, "why not a 1K????" the price isn't much more but the power and weight is. im use to riding a heaver bike but will an 05 GSXR1000 have too much power? the 05' 750 is already rated with about 4hp more then my 900 and weighs less though my bike has about 20% more torque (rated) Ive never ridden any of the newer 1K bikes so i don't know what to expect.

 

the 1k isnt really that much heavier. I think they are a tad under 370lbs. sad part is my old katana 600 weighed a **** load more than that. Lol. i can tell you 1st hand experience the 1ks ******* rock. Pisses me off, my friend has an 04 1k and i thought my bike was fast until he dipped on me a few times. lol. Made me look stupid actually.

 

I'd get the 750, I can't stand that pipe . Although it's supposed to be some serious competition for the ZX10.

 

the 1k without a doubt, your already on a decently fast bike its not like it would be your first bike.

 

I think for trackdays... the 750 is harder to keep low times cause you have to work at it so much. But for some, that might be more rewarding.

My bro went from a '97 CBR900RR to a 2001 GSXR1000 when it 1st came out. Well.. after a couple of days on his Gixxer, he said, from the 900RR to the GSXR1000 was like going from his '92 GSXR750 to his '97 CBR900RR.

Completely different animal. He used to be all confident but after getting the 1K, he was more cautious and looked like he was starting all over again.

 

hahah thats how i felt going from my 92Kat 600 to my 01 Gix 750. lol. totally diff animals
