Default Hybrid Engines

Now that I finished the H22a swap on my 94 Si, I think I want to build one of these hybrid motors. I want to build a hybrid that will handle boost. I have an H23 with a spun bearing sitting in my garage right now. What block should/can I go with? What other parts am I going to need? Thanks in advance.

spun bearing, bad block. just make it into a paperweight and start from scratch.

with all due respect to Pirate for his innovation. i think that engine needs to see some miles and be torn down and professionally looked at before people go making them. its a great idea and i hope it works, but its too new still.

Point well taken. Mainly I am just bored and looking for something to play around with. I was planing on tearing my H23 down anyway so I just figured, I might try and make something of it. However, it does make one hell of a paper weight!

I agree with Shakes, my hybrid is an experiment and needs to be proven first. For Boost I reccomend building the H22 since with boost you will have more low end torque than grip. So sleeve a H22 and go 9-9.5CR and upgrade your rods and go for 400whp. It has been done and has been proven to be reliable (well as reliable as turbo can be).
