Default b20 crank or gsr crank on my b20vtec???

i was advised to use a gsr crank by a shop here. they say that the b20 crank cant take the punishment which i know but only until like 8500 or more. what would happen if i used a gsr crank would i be destroked?? i was just wondering the benefits of this. thanks

Yes, a b18c crank will slightly destroke it but the b20/b18a crank will work just fine. The dude at the shop is full of it.

i would go with a LS crank.. those things are very good, if they can withstand some high psi, i know they will be good for your b20/VTEC.

gsr crank has a better rod stroke ratio then ls but u will have to use gsr rods also yes this will destroke it but it all depends on where u want ur power and what kinda cams ur going with i took my b20vtec to 8500 a lot and my lsvtec to 9k with ls cranks so they can take it but id def use arp rod bolts and get it balanced

Why not get some other cams then?

I think their are better ways you could spend the $ you will need for the crank, whilst losing displacement!

Correct me if im wrong, but isn't it with the B20 or LS crank, you are gonna have more displacement so more torque but you wont be able to rev as high as B18C crank. That one will give you more revs but with a little less torque.

The b20/ls crank have a different stroke than a gsr crank. you will be safe with the b20/ls crank at high revs
