Umm... such a vaug question depends on what you put in the block what turbo you run.... There are just so many diffrent ways of doing it.

Im going to say ls/vtec. But unless you have money to do it again and again over and over then dont do it. Mix and Match engines are weak.

Just let me put it this way I'v see a ls/vtech make 319 at the wheels.

TOO MANY VARIABLES!

You can build either to be awesome.

and you have the right to say he is ignorant, where do you get your facts at. Please show me proof of your findings. You are right about the qurstion being "vaug" and how it depends on what your set up is but to make a comment like this " But unless you have money to do it again and again over and over then dont do it. Mix and Match engines are weak." I have not seen proof of this. Its only weak if you assemble it wrong or do a half as* build.
A ls/vtec motor is not much different than a gsr motor when built. Its only cheaper if have a b18a/b block laying around. People who are going the route of ls/vtec are making the same if not more power than a b18c motor.

as most have stated, either motor will allow you to reach your power goals. only the LS/Vtec motor will yield better torque as a result of the displacement. the only problem with the LS/Vtec motor is that it does tend to break down if assembled poorly. so the decision is really up to you...don't let others make decisions for you. just find out the cold hard facts on each build, know what you want, and just build your dream car/motor.

port out the ls head turbos enable you to make as much power as humanly possible if it big enough. v-tec or no-tec

Thats good advice. Ive seen ported LS turbo setups make awesome numbers compared to stock head LS setups.

Also, KHelm, you seem like the ignorant one. What does your comment of "um lets just say Ive seen 319whp LS/VTEC" mean? Do you want a pat on the back? Ive seen 700whp GSR setups and 500whp LS/VTEC setups, does that mean one is better than the other? You need to learn how to make sense on here before you start making suggestions and offering advice.

As someone else mentioned, all things considered equal, the LS/VTEC tit for tat will typically result in more torque. Enough that I would go out of my way to swap the shortblock? No.
