Default BC spec 4 -VS- BC spec 3+ on the dyno

here is the deal- same dyno , same engine , only difference is the cams. i previously dyno my car w/ the bc3+ and was pleased w/ the #'s as well as the tq curve. here is a link to my previous dyno w/ the spec 3+
https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=989055

tonight i dynoed my car w/ the spec 4's and made some solid gains in the top end. the two graphs looked the same up till 7000+ rpm where the spec 4's started to pull away. the graph will be up shortly and you will have to wait for the graph to see the final #"s

enjoy

i want to give a big thanks to Blown90hatch for the tuning love.

good numbers, i would like to see how much time you can shave off in the 1/4 mile. the car should pull like a freight train, after 7K rpms

i thought it was very interesting how the graphs over lay so well. till 7000 the look to be the same cam. i was very happy to keep the TQ with the the large cam lobes.

cam gears were - intake +3 exhaust +1

the car was making power w/ each degree adv on the intake but i stoped at +3 to be safe.

Thats huge top end gain, I wonder if it would make such difference on a 1.8 liter with 11.9 c.r..

The power gained after 7700 is impressive. How does the car feel now? I wish someone with stock bore (81mm) could dyno these bad boiys!

Good Job

something seems to be up with his setup. I don't know much about BC3's but it's just weird how his motor is done after 7500rpm with those cams. Seems like something is limiting the amount of air coming in. I would try a different IM. I mean you made impressive numbers with the BC4's but I feel the motor is choked for air somewhere. I would guess it's the IM. Even ported out I just don't think it has enough plenum volume for a 2L motor past 7500rpm. Tbone had the same problem. He was dying off at 8k or less then changed mani's and pulled further. I think with a bigger plenum manifold those BC4's will shine some more.

Like I said I don't know enough about BC3's but hell, my S2S1 cams pulled hard until 7800.

That motor is choked. Open it up!!

wow, i think that the extra $85 might be worth it, instead of going with the 3+'s

I wish I could see what these cams would do on a more streetable car, I do not want anything near 12.5:1 cr.

The vtec lobes on those 2 cams are pretty similar actually.
