Default turbo parts

i have a way of getting a turbo for a D16Y8 but its just the turbo for $100. What other parts am i gonna need? like piping, intercooler, etc.... is it worth it to get the turbo or would i be better off getting a kit somewhere? any help would be appreciated. thanks

You can piece together a "junkyard kit" fairly inexpensive(especially for an SOHC). Once you get it running you won't be sorry. I have seen many "SOHC turbo parts" threads in the F.I classifieds as of late so, go take a look.

i suggest researching how a turbo exactly works. then you will relize the parts you need relative to the parts that are already on your motor.

http://www.cse.uconn.edu/~yelevich/turbo/turbo.html

Also try the search function:

Thanks, those are awesome links, helped out a ton. so i guess it is worth getting huh? can you run as much boost from a "junkyard" or "custom" kit as you can with say a greddy or any of the other big name kits?
