Seatbelt recall?

I got a 89 si hatchback, and the seatbelt doesnt work tooo great...i hear there is a recall at the dealership? is this true? will it cost me any money since its a saftey item?

Just got it done myself. Its very much true and very much a freebie. Just drive in and tell the service writer your seatbelt is broken.

Lifetime warranty? It doesn pull out...like the reel is jammed or something...its kinda nerv-racking to drive, knowing i cant wear my seatbelt...so they will fix it, free of charge?

Yes. You're probably new to the ef site, but it's been yacked about a lot. I just got mine replaced, just be sure you let them know that both aren't retracting good. Free of charge

I told the guy at honda the seatbelts didn't retract. He told me to go home and clean them up with furniture polish and dishsoap. Then i told him the top half of the seatbelt didn't lock and i didn't feel safe. My free seatbelts are coming this week.

Has anyone here ever notice a plastic bracket-like thing that screws in and slides on the seat belt button part. When I got my car it had them on there, but everyother civic or crx I've seen has not got them. Could they be a factory fixer-upper thing for the seatbelts. I ended up taking mine off and they still work fine.

I've seen those, and I think they're from the original buckles, not the new ones. I seem to remember replacing buckles in a car that had them, and the new ones I got from parts didn't have them.
