Default swap for a ss trany?

has anyone put a prelude sport shift tranny in an accord?
would you have to change out anything on the console to use the different shifter?
i had thought about level ten's auto-stick rebuild kit if not the ss trans.
thanks.
i know you'd have to switch out ecu's, but thats not a problem, because
an h22 will probably go in it anyway.

Why would you want the Auto Tranny? That sport shifter is a sales gimmick no matter what any one tells you.

Hmm! I ain't never heard of anyone putting a prelude sport shift tranny in an accord before...

I'm guessing it could be done since you can put a regular 5 spd prelude tranny on an accord...

hmmmmmm........
sounds like i need to do it just to have those "bragging rights".
if it hasnt been done before.
i was also wandering if there was a way to reverse the direction
of the upshifts and downshifts. i havent looked at how the shifter is designed
enough to know.
anybody know if its possible?
thanks.

What year is your Accord, 94-95 or 96-97? The reason that I ask is that I hear that the conversion from OBDI to OBDII, and vice versa is a real bitch.

I'm not sure if the SS tranny would work or not? My thinking is that you would need the SS Prelude's ECU along with the Sports Shifter. Also, the Sport Shift Ludes come with some sort of immobilizer, which you would have to find a way to get around.

There's some people on this board, like Wadzi and Big James, just to name a few, who are experts on the whole H22/ auto tranny swap thing. They know way more than I, but I hope whatever I said leads you in the right direction.

I think that the reason that nobody has done the SS thing yet is because of the difficulty. It most likely can be done, but most people with autos who want the H22 swap use the JDM H22 auto tranny. Hey man, try it and let us know how it works out.

mine is a 96.
i knew i would have to swap out for a prelude ecu.
but i was going to swap for a h22 anyway, so itll be a lot of work
anyway. one of the main things i was thinking about was having the
shifter work in reverse. i would really like to do that if its possible, which it should
be, about anything is. but maybe ill try it, have'nt really decided yet.
thanks.
