Plastic piece around gas filler neck and driver side quarter panel
Did anyone ever remove the black plastic piece that surounds the gas filler neck behind the fuel door?
I wanted to remove mine because I think I have a water leak where the inner fender meets the rear quarter panel.
If you have any experience would you please tell me how to remove it.

I don't believe that plastic piece passes through to the interior of the car. All of that including the fuel line are outside the cabin, outside of the inner fender. I think you will see it if you look up from underneath the rear bumper cover.

that's true. you can see from the fender well. It's held in by some plastic clips however, I don't know how to remove them.

oh were you wanting to remove that piece to gain access to the inner fender? I thought you were thinking that water was coming in your car from around that piece which is why I said it doesn't pass through to the interior of the car.

Water can enter the trunk through where the inner fender well meets the outer quarter panel. The black piece sits in front of the outer quarter panel.
I was thinking if I remover the black piece, I could have access to the area where the two panel meet.
I know for sure it would work, but I'm not sure how to remove those clips. I guess I'll find out one way or another.
It doesn't seem like I'm getting much help in this forum. I wonder if this thread was moved to appearance, would I get more help.
MODS, IF YOU WOULD PLEASE MOVE THIS THREAD TO THE APPEARANCE FORUM I WOULD APPRECIATE IT.
THANK YOU

hmm doubtful, it isn't really appearance related.
I'm not really sure what clips you're referring to. All I know about are the bolts in that plastic panel surrounding the fuel filler port.
