I have only seen pictures friends have taken with the G6. I would have to vote for it but the other camera looks good also.

I doubt people will vote for the panasonic, only because canon is more popular on this board
but the leica lens on the panasonic is probably alot better then the canon
of course I have no experience with either camera, but leica is no joke

Yeah I voted for the Panasonic just because its the underdog, but I've been hearing awesome things about it. Really your opinion would mean more to me than 10 unexperienced people on the site due to your background.

like I told you on pm

I'd get what you can afford
just do your research
you probably know what you want more then me
I honestly don't think you'll be dissapointed with either one

You will only be dissapointed if you believe that a higher end camera will make you a better photographer, and it won't
only you will

Yeah it sounds like an awesome camera with a small following. I'd like to hear from someone who actually uses one.

If it was between the two I would go with the FZ20. Although I would rather get a Fuji S7000.

Hmm seems somewhat bulky, and barrel distortion problems don't please me. Thanks for the info though.

ive had much the same dilemma in choosing cameras, it came down to these two for me also. Its a tough choice, and from what i have read the pani has gotten excellent reviews. I would be pleased with either.

nope haha, i actully put both on my christmas list. Im sure that anyone would be pleased with either.

One place i usually go for reviews is steves-digicams.com his reviews seem to be fair and non-biased, and well frankly he rated both cams very high.

The way my G3 and G5 performed, I wouldn't hesitate to get the G6 between your 2 choices. Canon is just at the top of the digital photography game right now.

I use the g5 all day long at work.

and am VVEERRRYYY familiar with them.
good cameras, picture quality is great,
good ammount of control and the controls are really well layed out(one thing canon does really well).

BUT they are SLOW AS ******* ****,
sometimes i'll sit there watching it focus in/out in/out for ******* ages and it is just really quite stupid.

personally I would not buy one.

also they're shaped like a brick,
the new g6 is alot better visually, but still,
I like the looks of the panasonic.

however I can't speak on the panasonic's functionality.
