Default Parking and cold weather

Hiya. First post here. Nice forum.

I have a bone stock automagic '91 LS.

I have a question (well, many, but this is the major one). I searched the forum but didn't find an answer. So here's my question: when it's cold outside and I park the car, I'm having problems with taking the key out of the ignition. It's hard to explain, but it seems that when the car is put in the Park position, the connection between the lever and the ignition takes time to settle correctly. So I have to wait a bit (the wait is inversly proportional to the outside temperature) until the light lights up in the dash and I hear the clicking sound when I press in the brake pedal. It gets annoying when I have a lot of stops to do and it's -20C. Particularly since I need to wait for it to go fully to Park before I can put it in Drive or Reverse again... Old cars. It seems to me like some wire needs to be oiled up but I'm looking for suggestions from you knowledgeable guys.

So any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Yeah, umm, none of the Integra Type R's have Automatics... you might get more help in the Integra forum.

This is my daily driver/winter beater. It's just a tool to dependably get from point A to point B. I've had it since '93.

I get my kicks from my 328is stroker.

By the way, this thread was moved from the ITR section.
