Upgrading My Brakes
Ever since the Porterfield Group Buy I've been looking into upgrading my brakes for the upcoming Auto-X season and just for daily driving. I was looking at Fastbrakes.com setup's as well and just had a few questions. I was looking at R4-S's up front and then a R4 ($6 more than the R4-S) in the rear for a daily driver. On stock rotors how do you think I'll be? I was also considering the rear Fastbrakes upgrade, considering the price. ($150-200) I plan on doing hopefully about 5-10 Auto-X's the next season and want to know what everyone thinks of this? Or should I just get the R4-S in the rear as well? Kinda lost here and just want comments/help because I don't know too much about brakes.
Thanks!
Thanks!
stick with just pads (R4S are outstanding autox/street pads) and oem rotors if you are worried about changing classes into SM or other scary competition.
I went to ITR sized both front and rear from fastbrakes because I was already in SM (street mod) for my ITR LSD and cams and rear LCA's.... etc.
even just the R4S will make a difference for you on any autox day.
maybe SS brake lines will help out also, but really get the best tires you can afford.. slicks even on a set of spare wheels will help you immensely.
gotta love AO32R tires!

Damn, so you are saying my snow tires I have on right now with steelies won't do the trick?
Thanks though for the advice. I'm running 712 Kumho's right now and they are fairly new (5000 miles) and after those I'll most likely run some Azenis (spelling check). Just to make sure, I've gotten mixed opinions, but you would run both front/rear right? Lastly, anyone squeeling with the R4-S's?
Thanks!
