Car fell off jack...
Me and a friend were working on the Integra earlier tonight. We used the jack that came with the spare tire to jack up the right side. Well anyways, the e-brake was not engaged and when my friends leaned on the front of the car to remove my CAI, the car wobbled back and forth a couple of times and slid off the jackstand. I'm not sure if there's any damage or not, but it wasn't jacked up too high. It just sorta wobbled and slid off. What should I look for to see if it got damaged? This is the first time some **** like this ever happened. TIA
were any tires tooken off?
did any fluid come gushing out from anywhere?
if not you should be koo
probably just your header will be damaged
thats what you got the good old shocks and struts for

Yeah, you shouldn't be lifting your car w/ that jack unless its an emergancy anyway. And always use jackstands if your keeping it up for more than a quick tire change.
jackstands are cheap maybe 15-20 bucs?! I forgot but they are pretty damn cheap and will save your *** over the spare tire jack. Never work under your car without jackstands. HTH

Can you say Jackstands and a real jack??
i knew you could...
your legs are important for getting around.. not to mention a torso, shouldyou be under the car.!!!!!!
hate to say this but if you bent the hell out of the whole front of the car doing 1000 dollars in damage.. you should consider yourself lucky!!!

My brother was helping a guy lower his coilovers (guy only has use of one arm) and the honda jack slipped and both his arms had the weight of the car on them. Didn't do any damage to him or the car but it's pretty scary when your arms are stuck and a civic hatch is pressing on it. Luckly I was walking by and jacked it up again. If he had been alone he might have lost his arms.
lesson learned.
use real jack stands to keep the car in the air.
do not even settle for a hydraulic jack to hold the car.
always! give the car a shove before you start working (or pull off the tires) to make sure it is stable.
always engage parking brake and put it in first gear!
never use that POS that the give you to change the tires to hold the weight of your car when you are working on it.
take your car falling as a blessing and a lesson. you were not under your car. now go and get some really jack stands. and put your tires under your brake rotors so that if the jack stands do fall, the car will not land on you but your wheels.

halo..jackstand for 100 or floorjack? for either i would check with your local sears. they always have good sales and correct me if i'm wrong they should be covered under lifetime warranty
but summits good too..free shipping
. i never go under a car unless there's jackstands holding it up...plus i use large piece's of wood(parents have a wood stove) behind the tires on the ground. got told too many stories of people gettin hurt when not being safe.

never use a spare tire jack and hope it holds, because it won't. You can find cheap jackstands..but i'm sure you can get some nice Type-R jackstands with all that money you've got.
Anyone ever hear of a car falling off jackstands? That's always my concern, when I have the car hoisted up on all fours on a high setting on the stands. It seems like with a big enough blunt force, the car could fall right off the stands. I always use a 3 ton jack at a 5th point for extra safety in case this happens.
Sears 3-ton jack and 2 jackstands 115 bucks
does the 3-ton jack fit under the jack points though? i think i remember they dont which made me very sad

i know it's also been said before, but it's a VERY good idea to perform the shake test before you get under the car. when the car is up on the stands, rock the car side to side pretty good. it shouldn't even budge. i've left my car on jackstands for a couple days straight before.
