Default question bout tires?

will 215/45/16 rub on my 96 gsr? my car is lowered on neuspeed sport springs.

i think it depends on how much the car is lowered.

1.75 in front and 1.5in rear. i was reading alot of posts about which tires. some say to get the 215/45/16 and others say it will rub. just wanted to see what u dudes think.

i think it will rub, 215 is wide....i go tto remember 195 is stock

1.75in / 1.5in is just the specs of the springs right? springs will sag... i've had my h&r sport for 2 years maybe... and it sits REAL low... i have 0 finger gap

ive got about the same drop on my springs but 40/16, a bit lower pro. and i never rub from hittin bumps or anythin like that. dont know about 215's though, if i were u i wouldnt buy them if you havent already!

thanks everyone. im gonne go with 205/45/16 just to be safe. i have had my springs for a few months and i have no finger gap in the front and about 1 in the back.

They probably wont! But if your going pure street you should get BFG Drag Radials!

if i had coilovers i would def get them. but i cant adjust my height so if i got them and the didnt fit i would be screwed.

215/45/16 would be too tall as well. 205/45/16 is almsot perfect with stock diameter.

Run a 215/40/16 if you want the additional tread width. It should help with rubbing as well, since the total diameter is slightly smaller than stock, but only by about 1/2 inch.

But really, a wider tire doesn't give you any more traction, unless they change to a softer compound between the 205 and 215 sizes.
