Default to total seal or no tatal seal

is this a good idea,

total seal rings on p30 pistons for ls-vtec, will they be too tight for na

what do you mean by too tight? End gap? You can fix that with a ring filer.

I would not use the total seals though. Just use OE honda rings, there is no reason to use total seals over them, especially on the honda pistons.
