i tuned my friends turbo s2k to 289whp at i forgot but it was between 7-8.5psi
he was running some apexi turbo...a 3 year old or even older turbo (ment for an R33).
that was with gay emanage...i could have gotten more power out of it with a real computer.

i would advise you to get something better for tuning than VAFC

It's funny when anyone mentions that they make more than the stock hp rating at the wheels on an S2K, everyone's first question is always "what kind of turbo are you running?"
Must suck not to be able to make power. A 4th gen LS1 F-body can be pushing 400rwhp with a cam and bolt ons...

200 hp to the wheels is like you putting out 570 to the wheels from your 5.7L...
Very respectable in that sense.
How many Trans-Maro-Birds do you see running around with over 500whp on pump gas?
How about pump gas and still getting 30+ MPG?
So 400 HP with a cam and bolt-ons...From 5.7L worth of engine
lets see, thats about 70 hp per Liter(with mods). Quite a bit less than the S2K makes STOCK right?
And you say were not making power?
Very respectable in that sense.

That's a very old and tired arguement.
At the same time however, I wouldn't buy an S2k for straight line performance. I'd buy it for a world class chassis and driving experience.

The s2000 is a money pit. Didn't you know they drag raced before you got the car.
It's just like the RX8. No real potential unless you drop a lot of money into it.(as far as straight line goes)
I have no problem with it as a circuit racer or just a cruiser...
I do respect that you want to try and be different. There are a 4 s2ks around here. 2 have cf hoods and bodykts with odd wings. One is lightly modded (ihe), the other is stok. Atleast yours can give some people a run for their money!
You can beat me before I trade in my '04 SS Silverado for possibly the new Mustang or a C5 Vette. Insurance and gass would more than likely be better.

Well...from my own experience, every single one of my previously owned domestic cars (96 mystic cobra and 98 SS camaro) i'd say the money pits lie with the american cars...because since having my wife's S2000, we havent spent a dime on anything but gas and an oil change, gets incredible gas mileage to any domestic car ive ever owned (not just the mustang and camaro) and honestly, this car would give either of those cars a run for its money on the street...and its not even geared for straight line racing...handles like its on rails, something neither the chevy or ford could ever dream of without having to use the word "moneypit"...
You want a fast american car that handles well and doesnt need weekend trips to autozone? You'll lay down just as much (or alot more) as a new S2000 on a used Z06 thats already got its rattles and dings...handles about the same for anyone that drives it like a normal human being, and gets the gas mileage of an SUV...
And sure...LS1 can have alot of horsepower with just a couple of modifications, big loud chevy that rattles and shakes and runs real quick down a straight road...after a while though, when all that dick swinging gets old...i like to think that people still enjoy driving cars that are really meant to be driven, and not just past light trees...i'd have my wife's S2000 over my mustang and camaro combined...but thats just me, im not much for impressing the 18 year olds and beer drinking rednecks at the dragstrip anymore...i have more fun in the mountains with my wife running our little red roadster up past 8K rpms...
