How do YOU remove your B-pipe from your car?
A couple weeks ago, since I had nothing better to do, and since I was curious, I unbolted the cat and ran open header for a couple hours...wow that was loud.
Anyway, I got the 2 bolts with the springs off pretty easily, but the other end of the cat, where its the 3-bolt flange....how the HELL do you guys get that top bolt off ? I got the 2 bottom left and right bolts off pretty easily...
I ended up dropping the whole B pipe off the hangers...however, I did not have ratchet extensions...but now i do so it might be easier if i ever for some unknown reason decide to do it again....

Yeah man u need 3/8 drive ratchet, pretty long extension and a deep socket to do the job if u don't take the center hanger bushing off. I always spray a bit WD40 before I take those nuts and bolts off.

I remember when I helped a friend put a testpipe on
we dropped the b-pipe but couldn't get the cat off
we spent couple hours on it until we finally gave up
the next day he bought an air compressor and got the bolts
off and bolted everything back up in 5 minutes

Without the benefit of air tools, we had to remove the hangers and allow the b pipe to hang. Then we worked at it with a 3/8 driver and extension for 10 minutes at the most before it gave. Do the reverse for install.
Damn you are remending me some bad memories.
When I installed my header, it took me a good 3 hours to remove that f*** top bolt. It was so rusted that I finally had to cut the nut off and pop the rest of the bolt out. I reinstalled everything with stainless steel nuts and bolts and now it is much easier to remove with a small key and a ratchet.
Everytime I work on my car there is always a little insignificant bolt or hose that just wont come off and that I have to curse at for an hour. That's the beauty of saving money on labor
