rattles and squeaks
1990 crx si
my car's body has so many miles on it, i'm amazed that its still together
there are two things that are bothering me, so if you have a guess as to what they might be, chime in!
- when i go over a bump with the front wheels, something seems like its rattling loose ( I hear a clanking sound ) in the front left area of the car. it seems like some metal rattle, definitely not inside the passenger compartment.
- my springs are stiff, so whenever i drive over any little bump, i hear this squeaking thing coming from the hatch area. it seems like the hatch's latch (haha it rhymes) is squeaking, but i don't know for sure.
i will test stuff but if anyone has any general comments /had these probs before, i'd greatly appreciate it.
thanks

The poipping/squeaking up front is either a bad shock, worn/stiff spring, or a stabilizar link. lol....or ball joints, control arm bushings....yada yada.... have a friend pounce on the car while you listen for the noise....
The rear hatch is notorious for squeaking its the weak/loose component in what is pretty much the most sturdy structural part of the car.....alot of people use electrical tape on the latch I did on my 89 si and it worked great. look for loose screws holding the interior panels on around the hatch, grease your hatch struts little things like that and you will notice a big different.

thats what i figured on both counts. the rear hatch should be doable, but the front... I dont know where to start =p oh well i guess ill manage
