Default Injector balancing/cleaning?

Hi guys,

I recently bought a set of used RC 310 injectors for my high compression LS motor (about 12.6:1).

I bought the injectors from a very reputable member of another well known board who had used them for about 12,000 miles before writing his car off.

Would it be worth me having the injectors flow tested/balanced/cleaned before installation? I don't want to end up with one bad injector leaning out my motor.

I guess what I'm asking is if RC injectors "wear out" over time or need to be cleaned/checked after 12,000 miles.

Anyone have any horror stories about buying used injectors?

Thanks,
Adam

For the cost (most places charge roughly $50 for the set of four), I'd suggest sending them out and having them serviced. They're probably still relatively clean, but I'd prefer to have them as "like-new" as possible so as to avoid any potential issues in the future.

If you send them to RC they charge $125 for four to clean, balance and blue print the injectors. They will also send you a flow chart for to show u how each injector is flowing. Its worth it do it!!

I concur. It definitely is worthy insurance... better than it not working as it should and leaning out while running... which eventually leads to detonation...

This reply is a little late, but I thought I bring up a good point. Be careful when buying used injectors if the have been sitting out of the car for a while. They can corrode and stick closed, in fact I had a set of RC's in that I could never get any to work again due to they sat for about six months. i spent 3 days on and off working on them by had to tell the customer they were useable.

P.S. If you are paying $125 for servicing a set of four, you may want to look at other shops that offer the same service for less than half the price.

I agree. Gordon's shop did an excellent job with my brother's Prelude 290cc injectors, and the cost was indeed less than half of what RC charges. I would definitely recommend WitchHunter to anyone looking for injector cleaning/servicing.
