Default Nitrous question...Help!

I need some opinions from you guys. I have a JDM 94 H22 and i'm installing my zex system soon. I know for sure i'm going to run 50-75 shot on the street. But my question is should i go ahead with my idea of running a 100 shot on the track??? BTW, the motor is built BUT only thing my checkbook wouldnt let me do is resleeveing and getting JE slugs...what do you all think????? thanks

You should not exceed a 75 shot of nitrous while using the Zex kit or any dry kit for that matter.

That's what I was going to ask.... How did you replace your pistons without resleeving the block?

So what did you actually do to it. Fuel pressure regulator, colder plugs. slugs and resleeve were probally the most important if you were going to run 100 shot. You will probally melt the pistons before it take 100. I wouldn't suggest it at all. I run 50 shot with stock everything but plugs, and FPR apexi vtech on the way.

Never mind my dumbass. I just reread what you wrote. You do not have pistons, correct?

Anyway, with stock pistons and sleeves I would not go above a 75shot. That is what I run on mine. I have a NOS wet kit, and also have AEM FPR, AEM rail, VAFC, MSD 6A, and plugs to help out spark and fuel.

If I were you , I would take the above advice, and NOT run a dry kit over a 75shot.

there are people currently running a wet plate setup jetting a 100 shot w/ out problems, on a stock motor.

For a direct port kit I wouldn't break a 100 shot, w/out internals. The way people mess up their engines is that they don't wait 20 minutes between runs, spray below 3000rpm, hit the fuel cut off b/c they're too cheap to buy an ignition with rev limiter, and spray for longer than 15 seconds. Know everyone has seen kids who just got their kits installed and end up racing all night without giving their engine a chance to cool.

Nope, at this point i cant afford to pay 1600 bucks for bensons to resleeve. Also i used 97 prelude SH slugs (10.0:1 vs. jdm 10.5:1) JE slugs too much for me now. Sup big james!! Hopefully TED put together a solid motor for me...we will see in about a week (i hope)

I would've stuck with the JDM pistons and went for a dyno session to tune your nitrous, but what's done is done. When you get JE pistons seriously consider 11:1 cr.

Umm, I dont want to sound like a jackass Laughin2.2 but are you kidding?? 11.1 cr???? The 10.0 cr that i am using now is too high in my opinion. Maybe theres something i've missed..fill me in on why using an all-motor piston WITH nos is ok.

I'm not kidding at all. There is a guy running a direct port shot on an ITR with stock bottom end. Nitrous likes compression, it's that simple. I plan on runngin at least an 11:1 cr when I get my rebuild done.
Edit: I reread my post and realized that I didn't give a technical reason why nitrous likes compression, that's because I honestly don't have a physics based reason. I know that nitrous doesn't increase the manifold and therefore cylinder pressure like a turbo or supercharger would do, but I'm not sure if that is the sole reason why you can run high compression pistons and nitrous. All I know for sure is that it's been done, but it takes good fuel tuning.
