the power/tq. felt in the midrange is so much better
for sprocket specialties

Say 15 teeth on the front and 30 on the rear, will give you a ratio of 1:2. 30 on the front and 30 on the rear will give you a ratio of 1:1. Reducing the ratio in this way allows you to increase the amount of revs, reducing the load on the engine at a given speed therefore giving you more acceleration at the expense of high speed.
1 on the front is is roughly worth 2-3 at the rear although if you go very small on the front you can get loads of grief with wear
Used to run flat out at 130mph ish on the Blade, made it much more lively.

Please, i have i ridden an 04 gixx 6 and an o4 1000, so when im making the comparo believe me I know that no gixxer 600 pops first gear like the new 1000s. After riding the 1000 for a bit then popping back onto the 636 of course it was slower but the first gear power up seemed just as easy on either bike whereas before the 636 used to feel alot like my friends 04 gixx 6, which isnt bad or anything, it just doesnt come up with the ease of a 1000.

i know what yer saying man.....i too have ridden gixx 1K along with R1's
there's no comparison to 600's
and yes, now that i changed the sprocket up front, i can power up 1st gear no prob

Very good point sir. But it's funny cruising at the same rpms as some vehicle's redline.

true. i just avoid the highway as much as i can anyways; there is no fun in that. 8000rpms at around 75ish tends to just bug me. how many miles did you get to the tank on your old bike Len? i think mine gets like ~100...

Hah! I got you beat. Mine barely gets 100 before the low-fuel light comes on. Know why I've got you beat? Mine's stock!!
BTW, I'm at 4000 when cruising at 75...

thats the only thing i dislike about superhawks; the terrible gas mileage in comparison to other bikes. that was the only thing a friend could tell me bugged him a lot on his old one; i was about to get one before my 600rr...

I never really tried to test it bro. But I'll be sure to do it on my 05 once I get it though. This one will be kept a little longer than a couple months.

still diggin it after a week....now on the highway doing 80mph, no need to even drop a gear, she picks up great, about 700rpms higher than with the stock sprocket...speedo is off 5mph at 80mph (really doing 75)..had 2 people pace me
i have a 96 cbr600 and went -1 on the front +3 on the rear, along with the 520 chain converion. i can agree the power difference is amazing! i scare myself quite often if i go full throttle into second gear. front wiggles a lil since it is off the ground!!!!!!lol srry im a lil hyper this mourning.
