Default How can you tell if a strut or shock for a Accord is bad?

I have a used set of KyB's and Progress springs and I want to know if there is a way check them to see if they are good or not before I put them on my car.

if you look around the cylinder and you can see that the fluid is leaking out of it then it needs to be replaced.

before you put them in, just take the setup if it is assembled and push down on it. If the thing takes forever to come back up, then you have a problem.

or in my case if the shock is on your car, when you hit a bump the right rear shock and spring rebounds and bounces really fast and hard.
