How old are the S2000 owners on here?
I did a search but didn't find a thread.
So how old are you owners? Or how old were you when you got the car?
I'm 18 now and thinking of maybe getting an s2000 in a couple of years, I dont know if I can make the payments though? I would have enough for a pretty good down payment.

I'm 21. I bought the car 6 months ago brand new.
As far as insurance, that varies per person, where they live, their insurance holder, etc.
My insurance on my 04 s2k is only $100 a year more than it is on my 98 civic DX...go figure.

i just mentioned the insurance as a whole, cause he's 18 and might overlook it..... he already stated that he might not be able to make the payments on the car alone.... so he'll have problems with paying insurance...

I'm 23 and was 23 when I got it. Just calculate how much you have left over after paying your monthly bills (if you have any) and then decide if you can have the car. Don't buy it if it is questionable whether or not you will be able to make payments each month, you don't want to screw up your non-existant credit or your parents credit. You also have to be able to do regular maintenance (fluids) and any other random crap that pops up (flat tire, broken part, etc). And then there is insurance $.
Just to give you a feeler, my payment is 340/month and I financed 17k @ 5.9apr. The more cash you put down the lower your monthly payment will be.

I wont be buying anything untill I'm 20 atleast. I want to save enough to put down a big downpayment so my monthly payments arent very high.
I can afford the payments, however I dont want to be living like Im on welfare to pay for the car. I just want to make sure I do things the right way.
I can have my dad "buy" the car, and he can insure it (56 years old with no accidents) and I will just be secondary driver.

Damn, how the hell do you young guys afford this car? Between insurance and car payments, most of you are spending over $700-$900 a month! When I was that age, there was no way in hell that I would be able to afford that, let alone, gas, tires, maintenance, etc...
