The offical how to paint your wheels thread. please tell me how first ;)
Ok I know this topic has been covered many times again and again but not recently, I want to do this once and only once, I searched many of the threads and they go like this: should I paint my wheels? what color should I paint my wheels and so on. and the threads are really old, the members who made the threads no longer log into H-T I guess. Ive also PM'ed a few members who have done it and still no feedback.
So please only if you have experience tell me how to paint my wheels and what I should I do and what I have to buy.
I want to paint my stock wheels a glossy black.
MY stock wheel

I want my wheels like how eh2 to ap1's s2000s wheel came out. I hope you don't mine me using your picture as a example on how I want my wheels to look.

I feel sorry for you and the level of flaming you will receive for the creation of this post... do a search for painting wheels patricks 95 gsr or whatever has like a 17 page painting your oem wheels thread. Why dont you use the search function.
aircraift stripper -> black paint, lots of clear coat
and sand it down before you put the paint on
you can buy the rattle cans from kragens or autozone.

or you can take it to a customs shop and for about $150 you can have them powdercoated. they use some kind stripper to take all the old paint off then use an acid to remove any imperfections in the wheel. they then spray 2 or 3 coats of whatever color you want and let it set. then they put on the clearcoat and bake it in a kiln-type machine and they come out nice and purty. it is possible to get the same results DIY but you will need somewhere enclosed(like a garage) that you can use to keep dust and stuff from settling on the paint b4 it dries. so if youre scared your gonna **** your wheels up from sanding unevenly, take it to a customs shop. they did an excellent job on the rims i had on my 7.
I'm tired of people painting their god damn stock rims.
Now, if you paint rotas.. that might be a different story.

Why don't you just take it easy... maybe some people like their stock wheels but just want a little different look. How the hell is painting a stock wheel any different from painting any other wheel?
Anyway, see link in sig.

feel sorry for yourself for not reading my first post in this thread correctly. I said I did search but couldn't find the info I needed.
Thakns PatrickGSR94 for the link.

hey TYPE SH....i have painted my vx rims. If i had to do it over again i would not use aircraft stripper. On a couple of my rims the stock silver paint/finish did not come off clean. the surface was not as smooth as i would have liked. In the long "how to paint rims" post some people said they just painted straight onto the wheel without stripping the wheel. I wish i would have done this. After that, its all up to you. Strip or do not strip/paint over the wheel as is.
Make sure you buy the clearcoat stuff to put on after you are done with the paint process.
I bought all of my supplies at AutoZone. They had a section with all the supplies in one place.
Good luck!

Thanks John in NorCal for the input but im just going to get the wheels painted by a guy I know who paints cars for a living.
many people have suggested aircraft stripper, but i didn't need to use it for mine. i simply wet sanded it down with a relatively fine grit sand paper. then i put a few coats of primer on. after that, i used wheel paint from autozone.
i used newspapers to cover the rubber and whatnot.
