Default CTR Cam Power Gains

I am currently running a B16a2 with Si cams. Will I notice any power gains/loss just by throwing in CTR cams and leaving the gears at 0,0? Im not going to tune it just yet, but i dont want to lose power either during the time off the dyno.

Any settings you guys know that work like +2,0?

I would say so. the usdm cams are really mild, if you put the ctr cams in you should notice an increase. For instance, the Skunk 2 stg.1 cams on the intake side are almost an exact dupplicate of the ctr intake cam, really the only difference is the skunk has more lift/duration on the exhaust side. Your vtec crossover will feel stronger, but will still obtain the factory idle. Great low budget cam choice. FYI : Import Builders built an ls/vtec that laid down OVER 200 wheel horse to the ground, ended up running like a low to mid 12 on "type r" cams, not sure which ones, but the fact is that Honda know's what they are doing. Also, what are your ulimate goals??

So you are saying yes to gaining overall power with just putting them in and leaving at 0,0 for adv/ret?? I know i can get more from the dyno, but for now im just putting them in. My goals.. ha, 400+ hp with my new turbo setup, right now, im still all motor with this one.

so are you guys saying they will make more power without adjusting them just throwing them in and doing a valve adjustment?

It doesnt seem like this question is being answered correctly. I know they will pull nicely but will the CTR cams give me MORE power overall than my Si cams? BOTH at 0,0?????

what about valvetrain problems such as valve float w/ the b16 valve spings? is that an issue?

i have a CTR intake cam on my gsr motor, currently for sale, and i felt a difference when i drove the car after the install. its not a bad upgrade.

i want to go with s2s1's now, but since in an earlier post, somebody stated that the s2s1 intake is like the CTR intake cam, don't know if its even worth it. maybe i should just get an ITR exhaust cam since i'm still using my gsr exhaust cam.

i think the CTR cam is worth the buy. just don't go reving your motor past the stock redline.

it was also my first run at the track

if anything it was that, the car wasnt slow, i ran 4 differnt srt 4's and beat them all, they had intake but thats not bad for a 1.6l all motor with bullshit internals compared to a turbo str 4

lol i drive a crx , thats why i thought your time was slow, i thought you were going to say you drove a hatch or a crx and that would have been a horrible time, but it looks like from what these people are saying your time sucked anyways

TypeR cams are good upgrades for a B16. ITR is what i have now, i really would have wanted CTRs but theyre more expensive and i didnt have enough money then. My B16 EG managed a 13.9, stock head and standard bore, I/H/E +ecu.
