Default auto ex tras

my buddy told me swapping the stock dx trans for a ex trans helps more then anything but throws off your speedo and u have to change your ecu and some other stuff i just dont know if this is for only a manual trans or if its the same for a auto i did a search for info a few times but i nvr find anything for a auto trans thanks

throws off speedo: no. You only get to that problem when you are going from different number of cylinder engines I believe.

ecu change: maybe. No idea. Sounds plug and play to me though.

Why are you doing an automatic > automatic swap??? ***** and giggles? Old one blew out???

Swapping auto>auto seems like a waste of time to me. I doubt it would do anything performance wise. It would still be slow. Swapping to manual would get you SO much more power.

Good luck finding help on autos here. Probably 95% of h-t'ers sport the manual.

trust me it would be a 5 speed if i had a say in it but its my girls car i just get stuck driving it at times so i figured i might as well make a auto 1.5 dx a little more driveable
