Default when placing cams back in....

there is slot on the end of the exhasut cam for the distibuter knotch to go in....

does this have to go in a certain way, meaning, 180 degees of difference matters?

Nope just slide in the distributor. Then set the timing.

The distributer has an offset so that it will fit only one way. if you get it wrong it will hold the distributer out a little and will not seal or run.

the dizzy will fit in only one way in the h23 exhaust cam as well. if you cannot get it in right, rotate the dizzy 180deg and it should go in.

thanks guys, I also have another q, since when Im setting cams back in time with the crank, instead of pulling the crank pulley off, and looking at the oil pump, is there any other way to make sure the bottom is at tdc, pefectly?

You can use the mark on the flywheel.

Pull the little flywheel viewer and have a buddy look for the notch while you turn the crank.

Well, a minor little nudge on the crank pulley can turn the mark on the flywheel almost an inch. I usually just try to get it close, but not exactly perfect...

i love that honda does that,,,makes it soo easy, with most chevy's, ford's etc, you gotta index them...

idk i dont trust that mark ont he flywheel, I think I might just pull the crank pulley off....
