what is that blue and silver damper looking thingy next to the fork???

it looks like an anti-dive unit (prevents excessive front suspension compression during heavy braking.) i could be wrong though

The forks don't prevent the bike from diving. BMW has the "Telelever" front which is supposed to prevent the front from diving. Those motoGP guys are good enough that I don't think they get their feathers rustled with a little nosedive.

I was going to suggest a speedo sensor, but it's a little straight/rigid for that.

It is a Sensor, Used with Data Accuastion.

It will tell the team exactly what the fork was doing at what time and area on the track, Allows fine tunning adjustments that a rider may not be able to pick up on....
