Default Post your Project Car Plans! (more fun with pics)

well, here is my project... im a bit excited because it starts this month or so...

here is the stock car...

first mod is to ditch the stock 94 front with the aux lights... in favor of a 96-97 front with a nice lip.

bmw steel gray paint job. full color change. im doing all the prep-work, and then im painting the bay, cabin, and trunk myself.

after paint comes the engine... h22... that goes without comment.

next, omnipower full coilover suspension setup. includes tophats and all that good stuff.

then wheels... rota gt3's gunmetal with polished lip. tires = falken ziex's.
(btw, i know these are gabs... i just couldnt find a nice pic of gt3s)

exhaust will be the rs*r exmag... closest souding exhaust to stock there is. pretty discreet look too.

steering wheel will be pulled in favor of a momo corse. had one on my z and now i miss it everyday.

seats will be replaced with ctr style ones, and then sold.

once i start the project, i'll have a little build diary that i'll update for everyone's entertainment.

lol the front bumper mod is going to be cool if you can find an oem 99-00 lip in a condition worth mentioning... the h22 is overkill for that little car. Say hello to new axle savings account. You'll need it.

gators or raxles. about $350, with lifetime warranty.

Good start! Theyre right about the axles, the problem is the angle. They have to be wedged in at an angle that isn't condusive to the direct transfer of power from the H and they just start poppin after a while...

When I get my pics taken I'll post here...

I've had my swap for over 3 years, but I used to have some different aftermarket axles. I snapped my old set right at the spline at the hub. When I got these, it was just the shafts. Wayyyyy too expensive, but at the time I went through with it. I would give Stan a call and get a set of stage 2 1/2 Gators for your car

hmm, I've got a friend who auto crosses and drags(just on drag radials) his h22 hatch with stock accord axles with no problems.
Also a friend with an f23 in his coupe(same axle combo as an h22), he autocrosses his car without any axle problems.

Neither car is real low, maybe 2in drop.
How low are you guys that are having axle problems?

Just curious.
