H22a in a del sol....were to begin?
Im kinda stuck right now on whether or not to turbo my motor. I originally had a b18c5 in a crx with skunk stage 2 cams and the works , I blew that motor up and built a b16a turbo. I have experiance in both na and all motor so I understand the positive and negative of both. Heres the deal i just picked up a del sol from a friend who bought a h-motors online h22a, stage 3 axels, act clutch and flywheel with mounts and everything for 4500. I mean i get everything the car, the works. My problem is I guess that I dont want to go spend 3k on all motor equipment when I can just turbo the damn motor and make more power for less. How will the h22a respond to lets say a good header, intake manifold, maybe a stage 1 cam and some good tuning?. My goal is high twelves at this point. Or am i better off running 6-7 pounds on a big turbo? I underdstand the 22 doesnt like boost but what am I looking at a 7 pound setup comapared to a mildy built all motor one? q-mile time wise? How does itb's respond to mildy built setups?

If it is a closed deck, turbo the **** out of it. Those motors handle boost better than any. Turbo is always the way to go, that is what I am saving up for!

thats not always true. if its closed deck then yea it can take a **** load of boost but with forged pistons only. H motors have weak ring lands on the factory pistons and you cant really do much more than 5-8 psi or your asking for it...
