power antenna in winter

Default power antenna in winter

I have a 98 integra and when it gets cold out in the winter the antenna does not want to go up it just makes ckicking noises. is there anything i can do it make it work better in the cold weather?

Just a thought, but you could try and spray some silicone on the entire antenna when it is all the way up? I would think the silicone wouldn't freeze unless it got really really cold out?

You could try your local audio shop, and see if it is possible.

I installed a switch on mine so I can keep it from going up, I just leave it down and listen to CDs when it freezes up.

The silicone will work. The only problem is you're going to pick up a lot of dirt when you're driving w/ the antenna up.

I did this before.

I agree, anyone have a link to a how-to or something? This sounds like a good project for when i'm bored...
