after my junior year of highschool my parents are giving me a 30,000 limit for a new car.It has to be a new car though :[ anyways i've been looking at 2 cars the Lexus IS 300 and the Acura RSX Type S.which engine is better?Like the RSX Type S has like 210 HP ,but it can rev up to 7,800 RPM while the IS has 215 HP and only revs up to 5,800 RPM.the RSX has 2.0 liters and the IS has like 3.0 liters too.I looked at a integra type R engine specs and the Type S engine seems better is that true and i heard that a Lexus IS engine is the same as a supra engine can someone verify that for me.I really don't know a lot about cars that much. and i was wondering if both of those cars are able to drift isn't it like rear wheel drive to drift.Initial D fan :]

Honda forum or not, I wouldn't even think twice about this and I would have an IS300 sitting in my driveway. A 16 year old kid doesn't need a 30K car, and the fact that he's asking which engine is better makes me think he's going to pull some boy racer **** and wrap it around a tree within the first week of owning it. When I turned 16 I was happy as **** that my parents chipped in a few bucks to help me buy a 1974 vega GT. HANDING your kid 30 thousand dollars on a platter only sets a precedence that you're gonna get **** handed to you.

there is another option. why dont you just tell mommy to get a razor electric scooter and i guarantee, you will spank both of those cars you mentioned during rush hour traffic

 

geez, my first car was a 1989 ford ranger that leaked through the sunroof and didnt go past 65mph.

second car was a beat up dodge colt.

I thought I was the luckiest kid on earth having a car that was given to me! Cant imagine being given a 30k vehicle!

 

i wish my parents bought me a 30,000 dollar car at 16...i didnt get a car till i was 19, it was a '94 civic that i had to buy myself and build from the ground up...and you'll learn to respect that more then if you had moms and pops buying you a 30,000 dollar car.

i say try to convince your mom to let u get a used s2000. thats still under factory warranty. if i had choice betwen is300 and rsx type s id ahve to choose type s. the is really doesnt impress me to much. and plus with the way the new type s is gonna be. dayum. you should jus tell ur parents to give you 10 g's buy a hatchback shell, gs-r motor than have at it wit da rest of the money. they might go for that considering its savin them 20 g's. i wish my parents bought me or even helped buy any of my cars.
1st- 95 grand am v-6 american steel
2nd- 92 hatchbak jdm itr custom made front conversion. ran outta money so had to sell.
3rd- i currentley got 92 da teg. all of my cars put together aint nowhere near 30 g's

 

Get the Acura so when you crash it you can sell me the motor.
