Default HELP! 5th gen accord w/ 01' h22a4 swap NO VTEC!!!

I have a 97 accord w/ an 01' h22a4 swap. There is no vtec. I was told that i may need an OBD1 prelude distributor, or an OBD2A P13 ecu. Engine is throwing codes of crankshaft position sensor, and camshaft position sensor (No signal). Any one know about this? Or have the same prob?

you can use the obd2 dist if you rewire it for your harness...the crank position sensor is relocated on obd2 engines down by the crank pully

ok but i was told that i need the obd1 distributor b/c it would be able to read the crank and cam position sensors from the distributor. Another question i have is do obd1 distributors come w/ and internal coil or external? i know the jdm ones come w/ an internal but those arent compatible w/ a usdm engine.

all you have to do is run the wire from the crank position sensor it wire it by the dist. USDM are external. JDM are internal. They all work just depends on the wiring. Just rewire to your engine harness.

What ECU do you have now? You MUST have the ECU that accompanies that engine which is the OBDII P13 ECU. Go to the Hybrid section, they should be able to help.

Okay, that ECU is fine. Have you checked all wiring by making sure the sensors are getting voltage when the car is on?

yeah vtec is wired fine, everything else seems to be ok but the car is a mutt. Im using an 01' h22a4 w/ a 97accord dist. and an obd1 p28. I think i know what i need but no one can give me a def answer on whether or not the obd1 dist will be able to determine camshaft pos. and crankshaft pos. since the obd1 ecu cant read those 2 sensors in the obd2 engine vtec wont kick in. (thats what im told). Idk much about this **** so im hoping someone can help. Thanks
