b18c gsr turbo?
Hi H-T members. I need your comments and knowledge about boosting a gsr in my crx. I recently just got my b18c gsr engine into my crx and I am looking to boost it. I looked at alot of sites online that offer turbo kits for b18. Would someone check this site out and look at the b18 and let me know if that is a good price?

thanks.
My goal: To have my crx with 420 + HP oR more.

Those kits are either overpriced, or dont have the fuel or ECU system you'll want to run to get up to 400+ HP. If you do order from that site, see if they will give ou a discount if you order a kit without their RRFPR system, and wastegate.
IF it was me in your place, I would order the DRAG kit, but I would tell them to keep the 12:1 Fuel Regulator, and I would see if they can give me a TIAL 38mm or maybe even a 40mm wastegate. And IIRC you have a 96+ B18C motor, and if it was me I would get an Apexi PFC, but I would only get the PFC, because I am familiar with it. Then of course I would get the necessary parts to complete my fuel system.
All that stuff would let me boost the GSR safely. Then of course I would start saving up some money to build up the internals. I'd probably get a spare GSR block on the side, and send it off to get bored and sleeved to 2.0L. Then of course I would build up the rest of the internals, but not before doing a lot of research to find out exactly what parts I'd wantto upgrade and change out.

here is a secret. Order the kit from ssautochrome. Get a nice intercooler and mock up a ic piping. User turbo edit to tune the car with some 450 cc injectors. Order some oil lines and fittings and bam you got youself a nice little setup for about 1300 dollars. Later on you will be way happier than buying a 3000 dollar turbo kit and still runnign the same times.
if you are obd1 then switch that last turboedit thing to uberdata.

420 hp gsr motor = built.
if you're looking for a turbo kit to give you 420 hp on stock internals, don't
something inside of me also says that those kits youre looking at wont necessarily bolt up directly to a b18c b18a/b d16 d15 zc16 ETC ETC all those engines that they list, let alone have the right turbo for your application

he said his goal was 420 hp at the bottom of his first post
if you don't want to think much about your setup, just get a kit and be happy with 300 hp or whatever bs they suggest that they can make at peak. 300 hp is more than enough to make you smile.
another option would be to get the one that requires an engine build-up, because that's what youll need if you have a 420 hp goal.
i hope you realize that on pump gas you'll need to lower your compression to maybe even 8.5 from 10.6 (jdm) or 10.1 (usdm). that would probably make your low-down power suffer, and the whole point of getting a b18c in your street car would be lost.
personally, i'm making a turbo set up for my b18crx, but i'm not kit shopping - i'm piecing it together so i can actually meet the goal that I want to meet.
