Is this AEM air filter salavageable? See pix
I've only had this filter on for about 30k but it has taken strange form at parts, it hasn't broken or torn at all though. Do you guys think this is still cleanable or should I just break down and buy a new one?

they're $50-$75 for anew k&n depending on where you get it. A filter cleaning kit is only $15 though and you can use it many different times to clean the filter .
I just tried to clean my AEM filter with the k&n cleaner that they have to clean these reuseable filters.
It didnt do **** for that aem filter.. and the red oil didnt even absorb in it.
I cleaned a K&N Filter with it, and it did a real good job cleaning, and reoiling.
There must be something different with the types of materials they use.. Looks like the Aem is cheapass compared to the k&n

You should be fine, mine looks like that after I cleaned it since I whacked it against the pillar by my house to get the water out faster. Looks all dented but still works =P.
those are really easy to bend. it is just the filter material sandwiched between some wire mesh. I have a K&N and a spare Holley filter [almost identical filters] on my mustang and I just bend it back into shape if it gets tweaked. the K&N recharge kit cleaned up my Holley really nice, just changed the color. I would have thought any of those washable filters would be cleaned the same.

As far as I know, AEM and K&N are the same filters, AEM just rebadges them...
